Dr. Madlen Mammen has been responsible for strategic communication at the Humboldt Science Center for Child Development #HumanKind since November 2024. Previously, she had been Head of the University Communications Office at Leipzig University since 2015. Before that, she worked at the university as a social media officer and research assistant at the Chair of Public Relations/Communication Management at the Institute of Communication and Media Studies. Dr. Madlen Mammen studied communication and media studies as well as cultural studies at Leipzig University and completed her doctorate in public relations/PR. In 2013, Leipzig University was awarded the HRK Prize for University Communication for the best social media communication.
Madlen Mammen is the state spokesperson for the Free State of Saxony for the Federal Association for University Communication. She is also a member of the task force “Competence building in science communication” of the BMBF's #FactoryWisskomm.
